Beginner Sewing Party

Skill Level - Youth Beginner
You will learn how to read a simple pattern, mark fabric, use a rotary cutter & ruler, understand a seam allowance, and sew a straight stitch.
Finished project will be a 14” x 14” 9-patch envelope pillow cover.
3 - fat quarters (18” x 22”) for front of pillow (3 different colors/patterns are recommended)
1/2 yard fabric for back of pillow
45mm rotary cutter with new blade
pins or Wonder Clips
fabric marking pen/pencil (one that disappears with water, ironing, or air)
Sewing machine* in good working order with accessories, full bobbin and new universal 80/12 needle. We have classroom machines available for use at no additional cost and invite you to try one. If you would like to use one of our classroom machines, please let us know prior to the workshop.
*If bringing and using your own sewing machine, you should be familiar with it, including: know how to thread, wind & insert bobbin, select straight stitch, and insert a new needle if necessary.
