In this workshop you will sew with knit fabric to create a graceful scooped neckline sweatshirt with a relaxed fit. You will be sewing a mid-hip banded sweatshirt with long, cuffed sleeves. You will learn the correct way to measure for this pattern; and techniques involved include sewing with knits, sewing straight seams, and attaching binding. Sizing for this pattern is from 0 to 18 (If you have questions about sizing please contact Jill.) *This will be a multi-night workshop.

Time: 6:00pm to 8:30pm
Where: Phil’s Sewing Studio 400 E. 5th Street (across the street from Phil’s Sewing Machines)
Workshop Fee: $45.00 due at sign-up. The workshop fee includes the cost of the workshop, body tape measure (a $5.99 value), Grainline Studio Linden Sweatshirt pattern (a $16.99 value) and instruction. You will need to bring your own supplies, see list below. These should be purchased prior to the Workshop.

- Knit Fabric (we will be talking about the requirements at the first class)
- 45mm rotary cutter
- Wonder Clips or ballpoint pins
- 90/14 ballpoint/jersey needles
- Seam ripper
- Fabric Scissors
- All purpose polyester thread or serger thread
- Swedish tracing paper (optional if tracing from original pattern but highly recommend)
Sewing machine with zig-zag stitch or 4-thread serger
Sewing machine* in good working order with accessories, 2 full bobbins and ballpoint/jersey 90/14 needle. We have classroom machines available for use at no additional cost and invite you to try one. If you would like to use one of our classroom machines, please let us know prior to the workshop.
*If bringing and using your own sewing machine, must be familiar with it, know how to thread, wind & insert bobbin, select straight stitch, and insert new needle if necessary.
