Swoon Sixteen Quilt Block Workshop

Student Group/Skill Level: Adult - Beginner to Advanced
In this workshop you will sew a beautiful 16-inch quilt block. After this workshop you will have the skills to finish the 16-block Swoon Sixteen Quilt on your own (finishes at 74 x74 inches).
Project: Pieced quilt block.
Dates: Friday, June 7, 2019
Times: 9:30am - 12:30pm
1:30pm - 4:30pm
Where: Phil’s Sewing Studio 400 E. 5th Street (across the street from Phil’s Sewing Machines)
Workshop Fee: $35.00 due at sign-up. The workshop fee includes the cost of the workshop, Swoon Sixteen Quilt Pattern by Thimble Blossoms ($9.99 value) and instruction. You will need to bring your own supplies, see list below. These should be purchased prior to the Workshop.

Fabric marking pencil/pen
40 or 50 wt. cotton or polyester thread and 2 full bobbins
Easy Angle Triangle Ruler (optional)
Fabrics: All fabrics should be pressed & starched before the day of class. Fabric requirements listed are for the full quilt. Fabric requirements shown in ( ) are for the one block you will sew during the workshop.
16 (3) fat quarters or 1/4 yard cuts. 3/4 yard binding fabric
3 (1/4*) yards of background fabric 4 1/2 yards backing
1 1/2 (1/4*) yards of sashing
* (1/2 yard) If using the same fabric for background and sashing
Sewing machine* in good working order with accessories, 2 full bobbins and new 90/14 needle. We have classroom machines available for use at no additional cost and invite you to try one. If you would like to use one of our classroom machines, please let us know prior to the workshop.
*If bringing and using your own sewing machine, must be familiar with it, know how to thread, wind & insert bobbin, select straight stitch, and insert new needle if necessary.
